The London trio Popinjays -- consisting of lead singer Wendy Robinson, guitarist Polly E. Hancock (who also shares production credits), and bassist Ben Kesteven -- released Tales From the Urban Prairie on the same label that brought the world Curve; most similarities end there. Tales from the Urban Prairie buy CD music The Popinjays chose to trade in an acoustic-pop sound for accents of country and folk added to, sometimes, good effect. Robinson's lyrics concentrate on the failures of relationships as on "When I Believed in You" and "Moonheart."
