| One of her best
As time goes by, it becomes more and more apparent what a subversive artist Linda Ronstadt was during her hit-making days. On Hasten Down the Wind, made at the height of her popularity, she throws a few bones to the public (i.e. That'll Be the Day, Crazy) to keep them buying her music, but then slips in what keeps her interested in singing (i.e. the incredible Lose Again, Try Me Again and the stunning Down So Low.) Her range is on full display here, from the beautiful title track sung with sriter J.D. Souther to reggae (Rivers of Babylon, Give One Heart) to contemporary artists she is promoting (Karla Bonoff's If He's Ever Near, Someone to Lay Down Beside Me.) Finally, we see her first recorded venture into singing in Spanish (Lo Siento Mi Vida,) hinting at her future. Hasten Down the Wind has truly stood the test of time to become a true classic, and sounds amazing on this gold CD remaster. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for Ronstadt? Unnecessary - she transcends all categories, as strongly evidenced on this album - she is a true musical artist across all genres.

| First-rate album from Linda Ronstadt improved by Mofi!
This 1976 album is the third remastered title by Linda Ronstadt from sound experts Mobile Fidelity. The CD is a nice mix of rock, pop and country just like its predecessors "Don't Cry Now" & "Prisoner in Disguise." Ronstadt sings effortlessly as usual and the backing is superb. She covers songs by Karla Bonoff (3 tracks), Warren Zevon (the title track), Willie Nelson, Buddy Holly, John & Johanna Hall and Tracy Nelson among others. Ronstadt even co-wrote one track "Try Me Again" with multiinstrumentalist and singer/songwriter Andrew Gold, whose contribution as a studiiohand is evident on this record. A must have album for all Linda Ronstadt fans. Great remastering from Mofi.

| Sounds Even Better Today
This is the album that got me hooked on Ronstadt. On this release the expression of her voice comes through clearly and powerfully. The songs are classics with the right mix of ballads and rockers with just the right dose of country flavor. Plus this is a pop record with strength and character. This is a power-house release from a true artist singing in her prime.

CD is great. I used to have this in an album, and we all know what happened to record players. Was thrilled to get it on CD, and so promptly from CD Universe. I will be ordering from them again.

| I'm a true Linda Ronstadt fan..
Loved Linda Ronstadt from all the way back to her Stone Poney days, and consider this CD her BEST. Sure she has had several other incredible CDs (Heart Like A Wheel, and Simple Dreams to name a few), however this is Linda at her absolute finest! I LOVE THIS ALBUM!
