The Latin urban music drama queen returns with her first studio album in over 3 years. Included is a hit single in urban and bachata versions, as well as collaborations with Wisin & Yandel, De La Ghetto, Franco El Gorila, Jadiel, and Frank Reyes, as well as production by Tainy, DJ Blas, and Leny from Aventura. Also included is a DVD. Going futuristic seems to be reggaeton's thing in 2010, but minus the usual synths and slickness, Ivy Queen's Drama Queen keeps all its sci-fi elements on its cover artwork. Otherwise, this is a standard issue effort from "La Reina del Reggaeton," with expected guest shots from folks like De la Ghetto and Wisin y Yandel. The beats are familiar as reggaeton drum machines meet R&B keyboards and the Queen herself is brassy as ever, commanding attention on every track with a stern yet sexy delivery. That said, she's hardly stuck in a rut, as it's all executed very well -- you can check the furious "La Vida Es Asi" or the uplifting "Amor Puro" for instant proof. The competition may stumble by attempting to re-create the genre with hi-tech theatrics, but here the Queen keeps her reggaeton strain strong by sticking with the original formula. ~ David Jeffries Recording information: MAs Flow Studios.

She is the Drama Queen!
Ivy Queen returns to the reggaeton business after almost 4 years since her 2007 effort ''Sentimiento'' with ''Drama Queen''. Highlights include the 'take no crap' attitude of "Te Voy A Recordar", "Aya Aya", "Me Quiere", "De La Calle" with De La Ghetto, the romantic and uplifting "Amor Puro", the R&B power ballad "I Do", "Acercate" with reggaeton kings Wisin & Yandel, the hectic and powerful lead single "La Vida Es Asi", the soothing bachata "Amor A Primera Vista", the mid-tempo ballad "Cuando", "Cansada", and the 2008 smash-hit "Dime".
