Voyage 34: The Complete Trip album Product Description
Voyage 34: The Complete Trip album by Porcupine Tree was released Nov 21, 2011 on the Kscope label. Voyage 34, originally a two-volume EP series from 1992-1993, was expanded into "The Complete Trip" after Steven Wilson remixed and added production for its eventual re-release seven years later. Voyage 34: The Complete Trip music CDs Documenting the ill effects of an acid trip by a frequent user (the first 33 were fine), the four-phase work begins with a straight-laced narrator explaining the events leading up to the trip, with straight-ahead (though slightly exploratory) guitar work by Wilson over a mid-tempo drum section. Voyage 34: The Complete Trip songs Thankfully, the album gradually moves into more ambient climes, with trippy vocal samples framing the mood throughout the final phases. Including a thick booklet with most of the narration repeated alongside surreal artwork, Voyage 34: The Complete Trip is a bit self-serious and pseudo-mystical even without the music to add to it, an intriguing experiment but hardly a work to stand on its own. Voyage 34: The Complete Trip album ~ John Bush All tracks have been digitally remastered. Recorded in 1992 and 1993. Voyage 34: The Complete Trip CD music contains a single disc. ...See Full Description

| classic PT Wow. do you have an imagination??? Enjoy this voyage with Porcupine Tree. Be sure to enjoy it in it's entire full length, preferably at home. I wonder if they made a video of this? It's fantastic music with occasional searing guitar work. Enjoy! And hey! Quit chewing on those plastic light bulbs, you're freaking me out! | A Trip Worth Taking It all starts with just one sugar cube and you become lost in a maze of vision and pure imagination. The more i hear from this group the more i love them! They have mastered the art, so be sure to check this one out! By TheGodFather0037 (Baltimore, MD, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| Voyage 34-perhaps they should have stayed at home.. I've loved all the more recent stuff, Signify, in Absentia, and decided to visit the back-catalogue but I'm afraid this one doesn't do it for me. The usual rich layering of sound and quirky voice overs but too much of it on this album and as for the repeated Pink Floyd 'The Wall' riff, I thought Steven Wilson was more creative. Hasn't put me off though - still think PT the best thing to come along for a long time. By martin.dimmock (Rushden, Northants, UK) This review is for a different format. |
