Criminal Minded album for sale by Boogie Down Productions was released Sep 28, 2010 on the Traffic Entertainment Group label. CRIMINAL MINDED was the first of a string of albums (including RHYME PAYS, PAID IN FULL) which in 1987 established the blueprint for what would become hardcore or gangsta rap. Boogie Down Productions - Criminal Minded Album Track Listing
Truly an influencial album. People forget where most of today's generation gets there bright ideas for lyrics from. This is one of many classics that changed the face of the game. KRS, not even respect anymore by todays generation, those who don't, cannot truly call themselves Hip-Hop. That's why Nelly is a rapper and not an EmCee, for not respecting someone who's known as a pioneer of Hip-Hop. Bronx keeps creating it, Brooklyn keeps taking it, Manhattan keeps onmaking it and Queens keeps on faking it. By seva_lat (Bronx, NY, USA) This review is for a different format.

5-Mic Classic!!! Boogie Down Productions' (BDP) "Criminal Minded was a classic even before it hit the stores. To those that remember, one of Hip-Hop's definitive battles was between BDP and the Juice Crew (emcees mostly from Queensbridge Projects) & their premiere representative, MC Shan. From this battle, BDP came out with "South Bronx" and the seminal "The Bridge is Over". These two shots fatally wounded (in my opinion) the Juice Crew's dominance over NY radio...and then "Criminal Minded" was released. This is a mixture of classic Hip-Hop emceeing mixed with a bit of dancehall/reggae lyracisim. From "Poetry" to "Dope Beat" to "9mm Goes Bang", KRS-One (The Teacher) teaches us from the foundation of where Hip-Hop truly began. Although future albums would be more "conscious" (some might call this a "gangsta" album), this album had a force & power & energy that could not be denied. All Hip-Hop heads should immediately purchase this album, if you don't already have this in your collection. By Born Magnetic Allah (East Jerusalem, NJ) This review is for a different format.
