Even better than the Home Video version. Much better sound and color and scenery. All the scenery is included. Nothing is left out.

| Fabulous Remake of a classic! But?
I received this has a gift because it's my favorite musical of all time. And I was waiting for the new digital remake. But I was dissapointed because they left out three scenes from the original movie. When Captain VonTrapp has has his get together and the children do their presentation of Cuckoo for the guest. And in the den when the children do the puppet presentation. I know they were making a big presentaion on this digitally remastered THX editon. But I think they should have kept the original movie intact. Also, if you notice that when it's aired on television. It's now done on one night, instead of two nights? Because those scenes were deleted as well. Why? Still a fabulous move!

| Excellent picture quality
The story is well known, but here on dvd on HD tv or computer, the quality of the pictures is excellent. Worth watching even if only to look at the scenery.

| What a movie...
Can you believe that the entire movie is on one CD (considering two VHS tapes hold this movie). I watched it today and thoroughly enjoyed seeing it again -- and in widescreen at that.
