| Shinedown is outrageous! One word, Awesome! A must own CD for any rock music fan. Vocals and musician-ship are ridiculous. All songs are fantastic. Fav track, The crow & the butterfly. By Charlie VW (Rankin, IL. USA) This review is for a different format. |

| Shinedown has created the Sound of Madness! I'm a big Shinedown fan, ever since I first heard "45." I thought this new effort "Sound of Madness" was better than their previous best album, the debut, "Leave a Whisper." The Sound of Madness starts with the crushing single "Devour," a powerful war song. Next is "Sound of Madness," one of my favorites on the disc. Brent Smith's vocals are heavy, and the drums truly create a "mad" sound. The album features heavy ballads like "Second Chance," "The Crow and the Butterfly," and "What a Shame," which are truly mind-blowing songs. They are the original Shinedown sound, but vastly improved. "Call Me," the final, calming ending, may be one of the best songs I've heard this year. The song truly showcases Brent's powerful vocals. I recommend the limited fan club edition of the album, which features the strong B-side "I Own You." Highlight tracks- "Devour," "Sound of Madness," "Second Chance," "The Crow and the Butterfly," "Sin With a Grin," "What A Shame," and "Call Me." Shinedown will have a hard time deciding what songs they are going to make singles, because all these songs are strong enough to earn significant radio play. I don't find myself skipping tracks like I do on most modern rock albums. I also recommend Shinedown's first two albums, "Leave a Whisper" and "Us and Them," along with Disturbed's new album "Indestructible," and Story of the Year's "The Black Swan." I wish everyone in the world could hear this album, because it's the best thing I've heard in years! Buy it RIGHT NOW By R4V1$H (Harrisburg, PA) This review is for a different format. |
