Playful Heart album Product Description
Playful Heart album by Robin Trower was released Dec 07, 2010 on the V12 label. The latest studio recording by one of Rock/Blues legendary guitarists. Recorded with his touring band, produced by long-time musical cohort Livingston Brown, these eleven new songs show a more introspective Robin Trower. The guitar work alone requires that any aspiring player have this CD in his collection, and the loyal fans will all need a copy. A 50-city tour will publicize the new music and stir up attention starting in January 2011. In his mid-sixties when this 2010 disc was released, Robin Trower seems to be getting more productive as he ages. This is the guitarist's fourth album in three years, including a studio and live project on which he shared top billing with Jack Bruce. Somewhat surprisingly, there is no drop-off in quality. In fact, this hour-long, 11-cut platter contains some of his finest material of the past decade. Everything down to the artwork and packaging is up to the high standards Trower set for himself in his productive and commercially successful '70s run and truth be told, many of these songs, such as the hooky title track, could easily slot into those classics. ...See Full Description

Playful Heart/Trower This is a great album. Different from my favorite Robin Trower album, Bridge of Sighs, but still excellent. The guitar work is amazing. Robin's playing gets better with time and the band supports him well. The song selection is diverse blending blues, jazz, and rock tones through-out. Robin is one of the greatest and most expressive rock/blues guitarists of all time. Highly recommended. By Marksteadman (New Orleans, LA)
Brilliant If you are into Robin Trower then this is the album for you. Guitar playing is brilliant. By steven.guc (Australia)
Getting There "The Playful Heart" finds Trower coming close to his classic roots of the 1970's. Even though the title song isn't really light-hearted or "playful", the rest of the CD is wonderful. "The Turning" and "Find Me" are classics. The rest of the CD contains much better music than he has done in the past 25 years. Being a fan of his since Procol Harum, you won't be disappointed in this, his latest outing. Enjoy. By aqobg (Prescott, Arizona)
