| A Good Re-issue, with decent bonus tracks
I admit being a bit late to this party. The original vinyl edition of this album was very popular when I was a kid, but I never owned it; you'd hear it at everyone's house. Since seeing Mr Cocker live (in 2005) I have become a huge fan and had to have it. I am so glad I chose the expanded edition. It's a fine recording (realize it's over 30 years old) and the extra material, save some junk studio tracks, is very good. Most CDs with bonus tracks add forgetably to the original... this one makes it a great package... the closest you can get to have heard it being recorded.

| great stuff
This is probably the best thing Leon Russell was ever involved in. Great for blues lovers or rockers alike. Power bands like this you don't hear any more. Leon plays guitar on most of this and cooks. Joe? what can you say? You either love him or you don't, I love him. This is when he is at his best, live.

| If You Only Own One...
If you only own one Joe Cocker recording, this is the one to get. Cocker is in top form and the band just cooks. For me, the highlight of the show is the Blues Medley. Just about the best thing ever done by Joe. This album is a classic. There's a movie of the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour. It's probably out of print. But if you get a chance to see it, you'll see what an incredible performance Cocker and his band gave on this tour. This one's a keeper.

| A great hippie journey!
One of the great rock and roll albums of all time just got better. The Mad Dogs segment of Joe Cocker's career, along with his Woodstock apperance a year and a half earlier, are the most memorable of his forty years in music. With the help of Delta Space Captian Leon Russell, this 34 peice band made rock history. The future Derek and the Dominos rhythm section, two drummers, two fantastic keyboard players, a tight horn section, and a choir to boot!!!!! What's not to like about these performances? The extra tracks included in this new package are a treat and the DVD is recommended also.
