First Album I listened to by Bjork
Everyone here is saying that if you've never heard Bjork before, or just getting into her you wont appreciate this album. Well I guess I'm the exception. This is the very first Bjork album that I ever listened to. I found it to be absolutely amazing. She is so unique (that doesn't even begin to describe what I thought but will do on here). I found it so different from anything I've ever listened to and fell in love. So even if you don't know Bjork look at this ablbum, if you don't like this one, check out her others, you shant be dissapointed

Great!
Definitely a must-have for Bj�rk fans. Age hasn't got her but one bit. Recommended for open minded people only.

No voltage in "Volta"
I have every Bjork CD up until Vespertine including the Sugarcubes output. After Vespertine, I didn't care for the direction that Bjork was going in. After reading that "Volta" is her best CD since Vespertine, I decided to take a chance on it. I find "Volta" to be a very unpleasant, unlistenable record. It's totally lacking in the joy, melody, and mysticism that drew me to Bjork in the first place. I understand that artists evolve (look at what Radiohead became!) but that doesn't mean I have to like what they do.

Braver and Braver
Warning: Blind Followers of Bj�rk's music may be disappointed or turned off by this album. This is perhaps the most avant-garde of her own releases, but less so than the "Music from Matthew Barney's 'Drawing Restraint 9.'"" Music is a form of expression for every musician, however Bj�rk has never been content with simply releasing material simply for hits. Her music and lyrics have always been in some amount tied to her own feelings one way or another. However, earlier releases like "Debut" and "Post" seem more influenced by the techno sounds then than "Medulla" and "Volta" are influenced by contemporary sounds. As she has grown and changed, so has her music and her willingness to release material closer to her heart and less driven by the desire for record sales. She is ever braver and braver. Those following her music closely should be happy with the release and not surprised nor disappointed by it.
