| Grand Funk Live gets better and better I think this is the 3rd version of this album I've owned on CD and by far the best. As much as I hate buying the same album again, I was not happy with the previous versions. I feel it has been cleaned up nicely and rivals the sound quality of the original vinyl. | This is the Album of that year Really love this album and looked for it for years. Even tried to find it on a trip to Europe. By randyh71 (Pasadena, CA, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| A great recording made better The sound quality of the digitally remastered version of this recording is so much better that the original. On the original version the crowd is very loud and during the guitar solo on ‘Into The Sun” the crowd was screaming so loud you couldn’t even hear the solo. On the remastered version you can hear it just fine. This is stripped down power trio hard rock, just drums, bass, and guitar (well I guess Mark does play the keyboard on “Mean Mistreater”) without a bunch of effects or extra production added later. This was recorded during the early part of their career while they still rocked hard. It ranks up there with the best live albums. By rl076695 (Columbus OH) This review is for a different format. |
| Terrible... Sounds like a bootleg copy. I just purchased this cd from this web site. I didn't know GFR had another live album, other than Caught in the Act. Read the reviews, thought I'd give it a try. Terrible sound, worst live album I own. The music would be great if there was better quality. I'm no expert, but couldn't you improve on the sound without taking aware the authenticity? By JCastle (TX,USA) This review is for a different format. |
| dissapointing quality of music.... I'll give GFR credit for Mean Mistreater and Heartbreaker on this album, but as for the remaining selections, they should have never been released. The recording quality is horrendous, it all blends into one loud commotion. I definitely would not recommend this album.... definitely not GFR at their best.
