This is what Grand Funk was about
It's live, it's raw and it's totally jammin. If you can stop yourself from moving to this groove, then you're not getting it. This is Grand Funk at it's best (which is awesome). I saw them in concert back then... it was awesome. It took me back to a time that I had totally forgetten. GREAT CD!!

The greatest band I never saw............
I thought nothing could really touch their first live album which has a nice raw sound to it, but this really does surpass it. The sound is excellent and there is a great version of 'Closer to home' which feeds nicely into 'Hooked on love' - turn the stereo up for that one! Its just like being there - honest! My only complaint is that it is not a double album as there is clearly a lot more material available.

Now this is their Best Live Album
Great recording extended Drum Solo and Footstompin Music and Gimme Shelter recorded when they were still a Three Piece. What awesome power these guys had. No wonder they sold out Shea Stadium like the Beatles, They did to power trios what Cream had done in the prior century.

GRAND FUNK'S POWER RAILROAD
This album is as good as any of the other live albums that GFR has put out .There must be tons of bands out there that can only dream of immitating the power to communicate not only with words of excellent written lyrics, but with the heaviness and shiness of steel, and absolute rawness of the soul. That has been the pinnacle of the Heavy Rock era "The Hardest Working Band"was not a simple label but an earned right. I was blessed to see the original group in concert I mean Mark with the most powerful fingers on any fretboard,Mel the rhythm of the heart at any rate, and Don thunderous and truly footstomping...I also had the biggest disappointment a couple of weeks ago when I saw the new GFR outfit-WITHOUT MARK THERE'S NO GRAND FUNK RAILROAD! They should call it something else, maybe "The All American Band",or something of the sort, but please don't mislead the true fans that we're going to get anything close to any "Real"Live GFR album. If you have any, none or all of their albums I highly recomend you buy this one too...you will NOT be disappointed!

Granf Funk Railroad: We´re a World Band
What can I say about Grand Funk Railroad? .. All we know that GFR was and is one of the best bands of ever and his peak was in 1970-1973. This recording is a new release but an old tour .. 1971 .. the best of GFR ... Recorded in Chicago, 5/1/71 (Are You Ready), Detroit, 4/29/71 (Footstompin´ Music, Paranoid, TNUC, Inside Looking Out) and the Shea Stadium, 7/9/71 (I´m Your Captain/Closer to Home, Hooked on Love, Get It Together, Gimme Shelter) ... You can find in this recording one of the best live recording from the band ... and with very high quality sound ... The live Album (1970) is an excellent album but the sound quality is no good ... If you hera this album you can hear one of the best rhytmics sectios of ever .. Mel and Don are wonderful .. and about Mark, I can´t faind any word ... If you hear Inside Looking Out ... you´ll buy this album
