sad news
The first time I heard this album was a punch for me. I listen saga music since 25 years ago and this album is not compare with all the others saga albums even the album art does not represent the old saga. Any way the album has a very good quality sound.

Actually very creative and refreshing for Saga
Some good energy from several songs. Avalon is very easy on the ears as are nearly all the songs. I actually like the new vocalist better than Sadler. Some will resist the new sounds, but I have found this much better than anything by them in years. Even their best stuff had some weaker fillers, and this one has a surprise or two when you think it is going blah. Blah it is not! Good musicians, good new vocalist, and an impressive lineup of songs. 7 of the 9 songs are worth playing multiple times.

Good Songs, Bring Back Michael Sadler!
I've always loved SAGA, my favorite band ever. Sorry to see Michael quit on this one, but he's back now. I don't have anything against this singer, he just does not fit. He would be great in DREAM THEATER! Saga can still write good songs.

Needs New Arrangement
Unfortunately, this great album has been done a great injustice in the watered down arrangement of song order on the cd. It should have been arranged for the sound of the new Saga which is more straight forward, upbeat and hard rocking. I found the arrangement rocks best in three sections: one light and melodic, two hard and heavy, three calm and spacey. My personal arrangement starts it off with the light, happy sounds of Avalon, Number With A Name and You Look Good To Me; then moving into the increasingly heavier hard rocking numbers Step Inside, Let it Go and climaxing with Crown of Thorns. The third phase is the relaxing afterglow of Hands Of Time, Now Is Now and finally flowing into the title track with its smooth start evolving into its jazzy and rythmic main body. If you're like me, a veteran Saga fan, the new sound left me feeling a little empty at first, but adjusting with my custom song arrangement, some volume and repeated closer listening I've found its ripe with Saga's famous great keyboard work, solos, variable and interesting rythyms and breaks, and featuring the usual awesome guitar wizardry of Ian Crichton. And while I'm sure we'll all miss the sound and song writing legacy of Mike Sadler, the selection of Moratti as new vocalist is first rate. I think this cd is more unique and better than we realize and I'm looking forward to more great future material. Try using my arrangement to enjoy a higher Saga musical-emotional experience, the way it should be. Len L. Waterloo Ontario lenkaren at rogers dot com

saga where are you?
Michael Sadler has the most unique voice in any genre. I listened to this with open ears. Rob has a great voice, but it just isn't Saga. The music doesn't sound the same. There was always an undeniable passion and charisma. I've listened several times, and not one song stays with me. I'll keep trying.
