| the best solo beatle album by far All Things Must Pass songs This is where George released all his pent up songs for the delight of the world. Fantastic tunes, great riffs, great arrangements that sounds like a huge band of players wrapped up with Phil Spectre wall of sound. Everything from ballads to power pop to anthemic torch songs. A masterpiece, still sounds as good and as fresh as the day it was released like all good music should. Buy it. By Simon W (London, England) This review is for a different format. |
| Break Out Album of the Century ~!!~ All Things Must Pass album No artist has ever equaled the volume and quality of songs poured out in one album as George did in this break out release. This once former member of the greatest, most influencial, rock group of all time knocked everyone in rock'n'roll on their ear with hit after hit, all from the misunderstood 'quiet beatle'. Yes, there are some questionable tracks,(not unlike some Beatle album tracks) but regardless, there are so many really great tunes, that it doesn't matter. George is supported by friends and Apple recording artists Badfinger on what turned out to be a classic legendary album. There are pop hits, and undergound hits, there are tunes that express his religious beliefs, and songs that just rock. A Legendary Rock'n'Roller at his Solo Best !~! | ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT - 10 STARS All Things Must Pass CD music George Harrison, one of the most brilliant musicians of all time on his first album after the Beatles in 1970. Wow! Effotlessly merging religion and rock with music with great messages from a man like no other. Absolutely beautiful songs. Every one. Every single one. This is real music from a legendary voice that will never be surpassed. By keithsilvers (Wausau, WI, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| George Harrison´s masterpiece All Things Must Pass music CDs The "Quiet Beatle" finally broke the silence. Yup! George Harrison unveiled the remixed and remastered 30th anniversary edition of "All Things Must Pass", originally released as a triple-LP boxed-set in November 1970. The reissue features five bonus tracks: three outtakes from the original album sessions, the unreleased ballad "I Live For You," and "My Sweet Lord (2000)," a new version of his classic song. One of the highlights is surely a newly-recorded "My Sweet Lord (2000)." I feel "My Sweet Lord (2000)" is indeed an exquisite track. Especially, the new approach in Harrison's vocals and his slide guitar playing on this track is indeed spectacular. As for the sound, the remastered version of this album is indeed superb! In fact, the reissue sounds amazingly vibrant and alive. As for the new package, the album's familiar front cover is uniquely colorized and twin inner CD sleeves are altered to include backdrops of a freeway-tangled cityscape and nuclear reactor cooling towers, respectively. | The "Deepest" Beatle Long labled "The Quiet Beatle"... Harrison shows his considerable talent as an arranger, with an explosion of sound & emotion. Easily, the closest thing to another Beatles album... in fact, on par with Abbey Road... maybe better. Guest players are a "who's who" of the 70's music scene. Rich harmonies of beautiful chords abound... Spector may be a freak... but the SOB could produce a hell of a record... Favourite track: "Beware of Darkness"... but it's all a pleasure.
