| A Nice Little Ditty from Vince and Andy Vince and Andy's first US release since 1997's "Cowboy" is an interesting mix of cover versions ranging from Elvis's "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" to the camp classis that ushered in the MTV era, "Video Killed The Radio Star." If you're looking for an album of high volocity "thump thumps", this isn't it. By a reviewer (Charlotte, NC) This review is for a different format. |
| Not as promising as the "Solsbury Hill" EP... Erasure is back with their take on some classic songs. Their effort is average. Unlike "Abbaesque", there is no strength in their remakes. By XymoX4AD (Miami, Florida, United States Of America) This review is for a different format. |
| It’s The Same Ole Song (Not!) In 1990 Erasure released the single “Blue Savannah” from their full length CD “Wild!” What was really wonderful about this single wasn’t the title song (which is excellent) but the inclusion of the non-album track remake of the Cerrone disco classic “Supernature”. | Not down with OPS Having enjoyed Erasure's fantastic remakes from the 80's and 90's (Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, River Deep, Mountain High, Abba) I was looking forward to this offering. By Dustin (Dallas, TX) This review is for a different format. |
| very good "erasure" take on other songs. My grade for the first 11 songs:1)3.9 2)4.6 3)5+ 4)4.7 5)3.9 6)4.7 7)4.1 8)4.0 9)5.0 10)4.1 11)4.5 Such a good take on other people's songs that they sound like erasure wrote them themselves, all except for "Video killed the Radio star", this is a classic song by the Buggles that in order to do it right, you should stick to the original formula, adding a barely decipherable robot-like voice for the vocal track did not improve the song, nor did it sound like they enjoyed including this song as it's the last song, anyway, perhaps just an echo-box added to Andy Bell's voice would have sufficed, but their arrangement killed the feel of the original, it made it sound like "Unimaginitive Robots killed a Buggles classic song by choosing to record the song wrong".12) gets a -6 from me, my average of 3.58 gives a 4 star. .
