Nature's Jazz From A Different Era!
This is Oregon's first and in my opinion their best album. Even though this music is now 30 years old it could have been written yesterday. At times other-worldly, Oregon's music is difficult to categorize. One thing it is not, it is NOT bland "New-Age" music. Their introspective music is a beautiful celebration of nature or one's own deeper nature. Ralph Towner, the group's acoustic guitar player is a master of his art and has gone on to make many ground breaking albums of his own. In fact many members of the group have done solo projects. The group uses a wide variety of musical instruments including strings, flute, brass winds, wood winds, sitar, tabla, and a wide variety of percussion instruments. "Music Of Another Present Era" is a classic Oregon album and highly recommended!
