Buy several copies for friends I saw Iggy on a VH-1 Special promoting "Avenue B" and thought, what a great guy. I'd like this guy for my friend. I think it's about time I started buying some Iggy Pop music.3 albums later I'm not disappointed. When you get in that mood when you're tired of regularly available music and want something real this is it. Iggy is quite phenomenal: he has his own sound and a great ability at putting songs together. He is a survivor and a hero of our generation. I said our, not their. I love him. Blazin' Tommy D. P.S. Kate 52 is also one of my favorite music people in the world:). By tdyno (Upstate NY) This review is for a different format.
a really good cd, but... Don't get me wrong, I like this cd alot; Iggy rocks most of the songs in a way nobody can match. If, like reviewer Tommy D below, you're new to Detroit's gift to rock'n'roll, you might be better advised to dig for Iggy's work with the Stooges. The self-titled cd along with Fun House and Raw Power define rock; if you listen carefully, you might hear punk being born. These 3 may be out of print, but they are worth looking for. This cd is really good, but his earlier albumms are among the greats. By racewaybob (indy) This review is for a different format.
Not One of His Best But . . . ... still has its moments! The high points is the opener "Home", which is one of his best songs of his (solo) career. But then he hits absolute rock bottom with "Candy" with Kate Pierson of the B52s, which is almost unlistenable (and I DO like the B52s). Butt Town and Something Wild are pretty good, but this album really does fall short. Blah Blah Blah was Iggy's 11th true album (if I'm counting right) and all 11 are better than this. If you're just starting out, begin with the Stooges and work forward. By a reviewer (New York, NY) This review is for a different format.
