In April of 2010, Jeff Beck and his quartet -- bassist Rhonda Smith, keyboardist Jason Rebello and drummer Narada Michael Walden -- performed in front of an intimate audience at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. Beck offered a stellar performance of a couple of tunes from his own catalog as well as covers of standards from the pop, soul, classical, and jazz canons including, "People Get Ready," "Over the Rainbow," "A Day in the Life," and "How High the Moon." (The latter was done as a special tribute to Les Paul, and the only track on which Beck played Paul's signature guitar rather than his traditional white Fender Stratocaster. Undiscovered GEM !!
Wow ! JB confirms again why he is the best. Considering this is a real live recording (no overdubs) makes it even more remarkable. This gives an insight to the full range of his talent and appeal. His guitar IS the voice, communicating the full range of emotions and passion. Buy it !!

anything Beck does
There is no one like Jeff Beck! This set is different in many ways to his previous live cds. Firstly, his band is the same as he had at the most recent Eric Clapton Crossroads show. It's interesting to here the difference between this band and the Ronnie Scotts (d.v.d) band with Tal & vinnie. The second difference is the material, made up mostly of songs for Emotion & Commotion. Beck really squeezes every gram of emotion and tone. If you Love to hear Beck do his volume/bend/whammy bar thing, rather than just blaze away, this cd is full of it.
