Russell Crowe is on fire
My grandad, who lived in LA since the 20's, told me that the LAPD was entirely corrupt back then, allowing the rackets to flourish, covering for drug dealers, etc. This movie fits right into that history. Russell Crowe is absolutely on fire, you can't take your eyes off of him. James Cromwell is one of the best bad guys ever, smart, cool, and in charge. Guy Pearce is convincing as the young lieutenant who has to learn the truth in a hurry. Can't recommend this movie enough.
