Another Days Blues album Product Description
Another Days Blues album by Robin Trower was released Mar 08, 2011 on the Repertoire label. British guitarist Robin Trower re-enters the fray with a solid, electric, British blues record. Another Days Blues features longtime drummer Reg Isidore, vocalist Davey Pattison (who sounds an awful lot like the late James Dewar), organist Nicky Brown, and bassist Dave Bronze, as well as a couple of ringers like keyboardist/bassist Paul Page, drummer Pete Thompson, and vocalist Hazel Fernandez. Another Days Blues music CDs But the real story is the playing. Another Days Blues songs Trower structured the sound and feel of this recording to be juxtaposed against albums like Twice Removed from Yesterday and Bridge of Sighs. Another Days Blues album While all the tracks are blues cuts, the silvery liquid darkness of his guitar and the background atmospherics stretch this beyond the usual Brit blues cage. His playing is better than ever -- a listen to the tasteful, slow yet biting "Someday Blues," the steamy roll in "21st Century Blues" or the gritty, punch-drunk fervor of "Next In Line," or the sheer wah-wah Hendrixian whomp of "Go My Way" is all the evidence one needs to know this is the best Trower recording in a dog's age -- or even two. ...See Full Description

| Great stuff ... Another Days Blues CD music An understated, but excellent release from Trower. If you expect a full-out blues release aka Gary Moore, you might not give it enough listens to really appreciate the tight and mellow power this disk has. It really grows on ya! | A Tasty Change of Pace If a listener isn't aware that this is Trower, it's easy to think that it may be B.B. King or even Robert Cray. Robin plays in a relatively understated style here, and is spare with his licks, but what he does throw in are pure Trower, and quite tasty. Excellent vocals, particularly on "Inside Out" and "Sweet Little Angel." If you're looking for a rocker, this ain't it, you'll be disappointed, but if you like poignant, artfully-crafted neo-blues performed by a gifted, journeyman guitarist and a fine vocalist, give it a listen. | Another good trower outing! This is a very mellow, well done blues venture of Robin Trower. After a few listens it grows on you. It may not be as powerful as his earlier outings, but it is classic Trower. By Roger ("Newaygo, MI, USA") This review is for a different format. |
| Gives me the Blues This is a very sad cd,I like Trower, but this is a poor excuse of a blues cd. No decent rifs, same old blues reputition on this. Robin should listen to Gary Moore to see how blues are done. By BRicci1 (Bridgewater,N.J. USA) This review is for a different format. |
