The Image
When I found out about this movie it sruck some interest due to when the movie was made. I felt the acting was surprizingly good. I felt the main character was a complicated individual. A story about being in control. The person that appears to be in control isn't all what it seems. I felt the subject matter was a bit disturbing but the story was told in a way that it was thought provoking. I found myself thinking about this story days after I watched it. This movie is not for everyone but if you looking for something different on the soft porn side I recommend it.

NOT FOR THE TIMID
For those who don't enjoy S&M, avoid this movie. For those who enjoy S&M, think again. There's no way to describe this movie without watching it. Surprisingly seductive for an old movie, it's not altogether erotic nor altogether perverse. For the curious, this movie is a perfect find. For the timid, this movie is not to be watched.

unbelievable
Oh, how sweet are these times! To think that there are companies who make it their main business to resurrect old artsy adult films, clean them up so they look brand new, and release them on state of the art dvd is fabulous! One such company, Synapse Films, did such a job with this film, The Image. Directed by renowned adult cinema auteur Radley Metzger just before his transition into full-fledged triple-x, The Image contains scenes shocking in their simultaneous brutality and beauty. I knew this was an uncensored director's cut dvd, but I was not prepared for the unashamed extremes the film goes to. There are explicit scenes of urination, fellatio, cunnilingus, not to mention a lot of intense S&M. Each chapter unfolds with a different scenario, a different situation. The film continually builds and builds in intensity. By the final scene in the Gothic Chamber, you will find yourself amazed and appalled by the events unfolding on screen.

Well...
Some of it was very, very, good, although the acting was wooden, as others have noted. A few scenes can make one tingle. The ending was a disappointment, and unrealistic to me.
