Con Razon Rest Goes Faded CD (2011)
Duets Con Razon is a band based out of Albuquerque, NM. They mockingly call their genre "country-reggae," however their style does incorporate a diverse, and seemingly incompatible, range of influences. There is a definite reggae as well as ska appeal to many of their songs. Conversely, there is a country/folk vein present that supports the sometimes soulful vocals. Sung in both English and Spanish their songs reflect the band's bicultural identity.
Personnel: Javier Sandoval (vocals, guitar); Marco Sandoval (vocals, drum set, congas, percussion); Victor Magallanes-Flores (vocals); Pablo Magallanes-Flores (guitar, accordion, melodica, keyboards, synthesizer).
Recording information: Firehydrant Studios.
