Revelator is the debut studio album from the 11-piece Tedeschi-Trucks Band, who already have a reputation as a wildly exciting live jam group. That said, the record that Susan Tedeschi and husband Derek Trucks have recorded proves something beyond their well-founded reputation as a live unit: that they can write, perform, and produce great songs that capture the authentic, emotional fire and original arrangements that so many modern blues and roots recordings lack. The duo forged their two individual solo bands (Trucks remains with the Allman Brothers Band) and added some other players. Not impressed.
The musicianship is good, the songs are good, and the playlist is good. Good rates a '3' which is average...sorry, the whole thing was just kind of 'blah,' or 'ho-hum,' and I probably wouldn't have bought the album had I heard it first...

EXCELLENT!
Things to like: Susan's voice, great slide guitar work, tight drumming, nice range of songs. Things to dislike: there is not MORE!

Good but better on their own
The music is as always great but I would have to say I like what they have done on their own better. Susan's voice is great but miss the old lead singer for Derrick.

fantastic!!
This cd is unbelievably good. Susan burns the house down on Till you Remember. Have only had this cd for a few days but have listened to it over and over again. Derek's guitar playing is phenomenal as always, when she is singing Shelter, her voice is so smooth and his guitar is the perfect accompaniment. Not a bad song on the entire disc. Well worth it!
