Platinum Collection, Vol. 1 - 3 music CDs With Queen officially enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Hollywood Records reintroduces the band yet again with the release of Platinum Collection, Vols.1-3. While Vols. Platinum Collection, Vol. 1 - 3 songs I & II are full of Queen classics you already know by heart, the third cobbles together odds and sods from the far corners of Queen's canon along with solo cuts from Freddie Mercury and Brian May. Platinum Collection, Vol. 1 - 3 album Opening with the operatic rock classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," it's easy to hear not only how this British quartet achieved the kind of global acclaim that ensured they'd be enshrined alongside the likes of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Platinum Collection, Vol. 1 - 3 CD music When they weren't dabbling in playful, '50s-flavored rock & roll ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love"), catchy glam ("Killer Queen"), or hard-edged funk ("Another One Bites the Dust"), Queen was capable of delivering heartfelt love letters ("You're My Best Friend"). Platinum Collection, Vol. 1 - 3 music CDs The band's '80s output is equally intriguing, ranging from the hard-hitting "Headlong" to duets with David Bowie ("Under Pressure") and soaring movie anthems ("One Vision"). The third volume features more movie themes ("Princes of the Universe"), Freddie Mercury covering the Platters ("The Great Pretender"), and cameos by contemporary artists like Wyclef Jean, George Michael, and Elton John. | THE QUEEN GOLD & SILVER COLLECTION. This collection represents the masterpieces of Fredie and his three fellows who complement each other in this journey of pleasure. The songs makes you forget everthing and take you to the world of QUEEN "a kind of Magic" It is really a Classic collection of the XX century music. They are unique and there was only one Fredie on earth and heaven. If this is your first contact with Queen music, this is the best collection to start with. | Best of Queen It sure is the best collective record of Queens outsanding hits. A must for any true collector and a must if you have got none of their individual cd's as yet. This compilation could be all you need to survive this life. Without Queen life would be so much sadder. Highly recommended. By mickforsdick (essex, UK) This review is for a different format. |
| Definitely Classic If your cd player is capable of storing six discs, three of these will surely be there. This is definitely a classic album every person must have. By arthur_cabuay (Quezon City, Philippines) This review is for a different format. |
| A Great First-Buy Tha Platinum Collection is a tripple CD set featuring Greatest Hits 1, originally issued in the US in 1980, it was taken out of print in '91, and replaced with a bastardized version, some essential songs were replaced with crap like "Body Language." The second CD, Greatest Hits II, until now, only issued in the UK, covering the best of Queen in the 80's, and Greatest Hits III, featuring songs passed over on their previous compilations, some songs from the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, and the only post-Freddie Mercury Queen recording, "Only The Good Die Young," clearly written about Freddie. The Platinum Collection is a good buy for someone just beginning to get into Queen's music, it has all their TRUE hits. If you like what you hear in this box set, you'll become a complete Queen-freak. By a reviewer (San Pedro, CA, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| Great music Freddie's voice is the best, It takes you back to the 70's without the crackling sounds from the old LP's. There the Greatest band ever. By dmandrig (St.Petersburg, Florida USA) This review is for a different format. |
