| A tremendous performance by one of the true greats
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Live at the El Macambo 1983 film What can you say that hasn't already been said? Stevie was (is) one of the greatest performers of (insert style here) guitar, and this disc just goes to illustrate that point once again. Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble - Live at the El Macambo 1983 review Anyone who's followed his career can tell you that this performance wasn't that much different than any other; thrilling and superbly executed, with Stevie's brilliant and sophisticated touch throughout. I've often thought that there are really only a few players that should even bother to try their hand at Hendrix' work, and Stevie is definitely at the top of that list. He possesses the same fire and intensity, balanced with a sensitive and gentle soul. For examples of this you need go no further than Stevie's version of Hendrix' "Third Stone From The Sun", a blisteringly intense performance that truly shows his intensity and passion. Juxtapose this with the piece immediately following, "Lenny", which he dedicates to his wife. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard, filled with soulful and unexpectedly joyous moments of pure musical expression. If you are a true music lover, particularly of music performed by musicians at the top of their craft, you owe it to yourself to pick this up. True students of guitar (or any instrument, for that matter) should study this often (along with your Django, Trane, BB, and Wes!), as this was a man who knew the value of the right note at the right time. We can only hope to learn a portion of what he had to offer. He is truly missed.

THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE. TRULY STEVIE AT HIS BEST. THIS IS A MUST HAVE DVD FOR ANY STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN FAN.
