| Chance to Revisit "Bolan's Zip Gun"
"Bolan's Zip Gun," when issued in the UK in 1975, was marked as his nadir and it may be the worst of the T. Rex albums. But that's not such a bad thing. Yeah, it's Bolan at his most minimal both musically and lyrically, but Bolan was an underrated genius and even his lesser works deserve rediscovery. As a recent review in Rolling Stone magazine said, this album features much to enjoy, including the rollicking "Think Zinc" and the thumping "Solid Baby." "Light of Love," which was the title track of this album's mid 70's US counterpart, is also here in its disco-ish glory (This album features much of the same track listing as the out-of-print "Light of Love" album). And "Zip Gun Boogie" isn't as bad as most critics say. This edition features a second CD of earlier versions of these tracks and is well worth the price. Rediscover the genius of Marc Bolan and T. Rex now!
