| You better buy this masterpiece I owned this record a couple of years ago and I gave it to a friend as a gift so I felt I had to buy it again, because is more than necessary to have this masterpiece in my own sabb collection. Dio sounds great, specially on that black sabbath performance, an also i so powerful in Heaven and Hell. You better buy it dude!!! | Heavy & Loud One of the best live album ever along with Iron Maiden Live After Death. The only thing: Symptom of the Universe and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath would have been cool to be on the setlist! By Yanick (Quebec, Canada) This review is for a different format. |

| End Of An Era This 2-CD set marked the end of the real Black Sabbath, 1970 - 1982. The band had not only survived Ozzy Osbourne's departure in 1979, but they even managed to expand their musical horizons with new singer Ronnie James Dio. Live Evil remains a good encapsulation of Sabbath's early 1980s era with Dio. It's somewhat slick, but most live shows were in those days! And while it's not as magical as the two studio albums recorded with Dio, it does exude the same mystical atmosphere. Dio left Sabbath shortly before Live Evil was released in January 1983, and the band later went through some ill-advised personnel changes that effectively killed the aura of mystery and mystique that was so integral to Sabbath's appeal. This album is a good reminder of what Black Sabbath really was - and probably never will be again. By HeepCreep (Tacoma, WA ; USA) This review is for a different format. |
| NOT LIVE AT ALL---MY CANADIAN FRIEND! As a music collector I had to have this in my collection. This is the most overdubbed and studio enhanced album ever marketed as "Live". Crowd noise added in etc. This has been a known fact for ever. I agree Iron maiden Live After Death, one of the best live albums ever along with Deep Purples Made In Japan, and UFO Strangers In The Night, and Thin Lizzy Life. Check those out!
