| High Quality Remaster version
My personal favorite Pink Floyd release. Animals was originally released at a impressionable point in my youth. I own a pristine copy of the orginal album in all it's analog glory. My opinion of the album is 95% great. The 5% negative is from the effect of pitch fluctuation heard on the inner most grooves of the last track on both sides of the LP. When the first CD was released, I thought this would rectify the LP's shortcomings. My opinion of the first CD release is very low. Sonically a poor copy of a great rock opera. This new remaster solves all the problems of all previous releases. I am most pleased with the clean sounding bass with solid defintion. The pitch issues are completely removed. For any Pink Floyd fan, this remaster is a must have.

| Arf Arf Oink Oink Baaaaa.....
"Animals" is perhaps the most pessimistic album in the entire Pink Floyd canon, but it is a classic work and it seems to have been a forgotten piece when discussing the Floyd's legacy. The record presents a view of a dystopian society consisting of dogs, pigs and sheep. In a way, it is somewhat of a Roger Waters solo album as he dominates the proceedings, writing the entire work, including one co-write with David Gilmour. A recorded clone of George Orwell's "Animal Farm", "Animals" is indeed a prescient precursor; the themes definitely apply today. The only gleam of hope is in the beautiful acoustic piece "Pigs On the Wing" which bookends the three lengthy main pieces. An essential purchase and definite food for thought.
