Extraordinary Machine album for sale Product Description
Extraordinary Machine album for sale by Fiona Apple was released Sep 20, 2011 on the Plain Recordings label. (2-LP set) Upon its release in October of 2005, after years of label disputes, leaked tracks, and re-recordings, Extraordinary Machine received almost universal acclaim. It was only Fiona Apple's 3rd album in close to 10 years, proving that she was a per To say that the released version of Extraordinary Machine is a marked improvement over the bootlegged version is not to say that it sounds more complete -- after all, the booted Jon Brion productions sounded finished, as evidenced by the two cuts that were retained; the intricate chamber pop of the opening title track and the closing "Waltz (Better Than Fine)" are the only time Brion's productions not only suited, but enhanced Fiona Apple's songs -- but they are both more accessible, and more fully realized, letting Apple's songs breathe in a way they didn't on the original sessions. | Cold Extraordinary Machine buy CD music Fiona Apple is an excellent singer an song writter. I've played "Tidal" and "When the pawn... " lots of times. I was waiting for this album for six years. What happened? Her voice and the piano are correct, but there's no soul in the songs. Not feelings. Not Fiona, only a musician that plays instruments almost for obligation. Not personality. Not the sadness of "Love ridden" nor "Sullen girl" Not the beauty of "I know" nor "Pale september" nor "Never is a promise" Not the lust of "Criminal" Not the force of "The way things are" There are only 3 excellent songs: "Waltz", "Not about love" and "Parting gift" This album is not bad, but I was waiting for much more for this astonishing woman. Mediocre. By vfalcon (Lima, Peru) This review is for a different format. |
| One of a kind artist Fiona's distinct sound and original lyrics are again on display in Extraordinary machine. Buy it if you are looking for something distinctive, original and that gets better the more you listen to it. By Andrew (Johannesburg, South Africa) This review is for a different format. |
| "Rational" comeback The songs in this cd are good but their emotional potential seems to be flattered down a bit by "macho" arrangements... everything is perfect but, apart from Fiona's voice and lyrics, somewhat cold. By squid103 (Foligno (PG)) This review is for a different format. |
| I love her songs!! Extraordinary Machine songs Although I think this cd is wonderful, it really helped seeing her live to understand how she really feels when she is singing these songs. Once you have heard her live and all the emotions she brings to each song you can listen to the cd and just know how she is feeling even though the song itself might sound a little unemotional. You've just got to get in the mindset really. The words are very expressive but you definately have to hear her live to get the full effect. I wish she would release a live cd!! | Better Live? i recently went to one of her concerts and thought she sounded better live. Her cd is wonderfull but you can't apreciate it fully untill you see her actually perform the songs. By Jennifer (brooklyn,Ny,USA) This review is for a different format. |
