Les Chants Magnetiques album for sale Product Description
Les Chants Magnetiques album for sale by Jarre Jean Michel was released Mar 13, 2012 on the Dreyfus label. Les Chants Magnetiques was the third of Jean Michel Jarre's albums in a row to update Tangerine Dream's atmospheric sequencer trance for a synth pop and mainstream crossover audience. The side-long "Les Chants Magnetiques, Pt.1" is the capstone of the album, while "Pt.2" through "Pt.5" move through driving electronic pop and several passages more indebted to Jarre's past in the musique concrète scene. It's often just as melodic and inventive as Oxygene, though not as consistently creative. ...See Full Description

| We Rely On Magnets for our gadgetry This is one good cd and Part 1 starts off very symphonic and then after 7 minutes it calms down so you can relax then it speeds up again Then Part 2 is a good pop tune with trains passing onto a gentle part 3 then part 4 is another good pop tune and this time an express train passes Part 5 I cannot yet understand. I really enjoy this album with it`s good bass line and tinkling backgrounds I also like the cover of a half JMJ and the world in his eye! I missed the singles off this album I also have it on viynil as Polydor Dreyfuss Ltd By palexandersquires (United kingdom) This review is for a different format. |
| Fascinating music after 25 years! Hello! I've heard this album from Jean-Michel in the LP release of this album, and together with Oxygéne & Equinoxe I think this is the very best of Jarre. By vargas8715 (Tijuana, Mexico) This review is for a different format. |

Oxygene Vinyl LP (1977)
Les Chants Magnetiques album for sale One of the pioneers of electronic music, Jean Michel Jarre has arguably done more to popularize the use of synthesizers than any other artist. Liberating synthesized sound from the esoteric preoccupations of academic composers, Jarre was among the first to explore the instrument's melodic and rhythmic possibilities--key innovations that went on to become significant influences for ambient electronica, synth pop, and techno. OXYGENE, released in 1977, pushed the young composer into the international spotlight, charting his meteoric rise from obscure film composer to stadium-packing superstar. Contrasting with the hard, clinical sound of his contemporaries, Kraftwerk and Giorgio Moroder, OXYGENE is bathed in distinctive melodies and warm string pads (courtesy of vintage keyboards like the Synthi VCS3 and Eminent organ). On the now iconic space synth epic "Oxygene (Part IV)," a percolating drum machine patters away as sweeping synth melodies form dramatic arcs of counterpoint. Likely to be Jarre's best known composition, the track evokes vast unexplored spaceways and cosmic vistas like few songs can.
First ever vinyl reissue - remastered from the original reels - 180gm vinyl. With his first album, Oxygene, Jean Michel Jarre gave his soul to electronic music, creating several series of unforgettable melodies, as well as a cult classic! The most well-known theme, `Oxyge`ne 4' went viral around the world, becoming so famous that many programs began using it as a jingle or a theme. Jean Michel Jarre became an international star, selling more than 12 million copies ...

Equinoxe Vinyl LP (1978)
Les Chants Magnetiques CD music Synthesizer master Jarre built an entire career around the renown he achieved through this 1978 recording. Performed entirely on synthesizers, EQUINOXE consists of a single piece divided up into eight movements. Clearly influenced by the more melodic side of mid-period Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, Jarre filled this album with gauzy, atmospheric synth textures marked by an inviting, impressionistic feel.
The cinematic vistas evoked by Jarre's dreamy analog synthscapes are also undoubtedly influenced by his father, famed film composer Maurice Jarre. EQUINOXE takes a decided turn towards the mainstream when the bouncy, sequenced rhythms kick in, but the moodier sections are intoxicating, worthy of Klaus Schulze at his best.
First ever vinyl reissue - remastered from the original reels - 180gm vinyl. Jean Michel Jarre released Equinoxe in 1978. If Oxyge`ne was a hymn to the air, Equinoxe was an ode to water; music that was fog, mist, almost organic. Jarre created in eighteen months a veritable electronic symphony of intertwining melodic themes. The electronics allowed him to evoke, not imitate the sounds of nature. He recreated them on a synthesiser like Fellini had recreated the sea or the sky at the Cinecitta` studio, giving them a personal colour or rhythm.
Recorded at Jean-Michel Jarre's studio, Paris, France from January to August, 1978.
