Hot Space album for sale Product Description
Hot Space album for sale by Queen was released Sep 13, 2011 on the Hollywood label. .1982's HOT SPACE is by far the most controversial album Queen ever released. Coming off a major disco hit with 1980's "Another One Bites The Dust," the band decided to take it a step further and released an album comprised mostly of tunes crafted from the same dance mold. This wouldn't have been a big deal for some bands, but the majority of Queen's fans were rock n' rollers, not disco buffs. Hot Space CD music is a 2-disc set with 16 songs. ...See Full Description

GIVE ME A BREAK, ZERO! THIS WOULD BE A ZERO BUT IT CAN'T BE RATED THAT LOW. Is this disco queen? BAD, BAD , BAD. JUST DISMISS THIS ONE, PLEASE! By Bob (Buffalo ny) This review is for a different format.
hot space leaves you cold? Well, this is not a great Queen album but it is a fun listen anyway.2 good songs with "Life is Real" and of course "Under Pressure". From here Queen would lose its American audience. By GoodoldFashionedboy (us, US) This review is for a different format.
Whats all the fuss about?????? .O. k, so it's not the queen rock were'e all used to but hey, it's still unmistakably queen and all the tracks are great. By Rob (South London) This review is for a different format.
Got to do what you got to do. Clearly they had to get this album out of their system. It has some shining moments-"Las Palabras De Amor", "Under Pressure", "Action This Day" even "Put out The Fire". By Rich (SLC, Ut) This review is for a different format.
Listen and Learn Hot Space is Superb because it's a perfect introduction to Queen's turn of the century of new and improved, fashionable styles of music! It was the 80's for christ sake! No one expects to be doing the same thing forever and Queen would not be Queen without their different periods, because this is what makes a band interesting. By Linzi,15 year old Queen Fan :) (Scotland) This review is for a different format.

Yes Close to the Edge CD (1972) Top Seller
Hot Space CD music One of the high-water marks of progressive rock (and thus of 1970s rock in general), CLOSE TO THE EDGE found British prog godfathers Yes firing on all cylinders. Throughout their history, they've undergone numerous lineup changes, but this album featured the "classic" formation responsible for their absolute finest achievements. Here Rick Wakeman is at his Moog-goes-Baroque best behind the keyboards, Steve Howe sounds like a blues guitarist from Mars, Chris Squire delivers confoundingly contrapuntal bass lines, and Bill Bruford seemingly solves complex mathematical equations from his drum stool. The lion's share of the album is occupied by the title track, a complex piece that moves through numerous modes and moods. In latter decades, the extended song-suite has been denigrated as indicative of the worst rock pretensions, but, on CLOSE TO THE EDGE, it was a fascinating new concept, and Yes made it work more convincingly than anyone else before or since.
2003 remastered, reissue of 1972 album with redesigned booklet (digipak/slipcase), restored LP art, archival photos and new liner notes. Includes 4 bonus tracks 'America' (single version), 'Total Mass Retain' (single version), 'And You And I' (alternate version) & 'Siberia' (studio run-through of 'Siberian Khatru'). Elektra.

Yes Time and a Word CD (1970) Top Seller
Hot Space album for sale Yes' second (and least successful) album was a transitional effort; the group trying for a more produced and sophisticated sound through the use of an orchestra. Even so, the results weren't conventional, because the group didn't tone down or turn down its sound. Much of Time and a Word relies on bold, highly animated performances by Bill Bruford, Chris Squire, and Tony Kaye. Additionally, by this time the group was developing a much tauter ensemble than was evident on their first LP, so there's no lack of visceral excitement. "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed" was a bold opening, a highly amplified, frenzied adaptation of the Richie Havens song, melded with Jerome Moross' title music from the movie The Big Country. Somewhat more successful musically is "Then," which keeps the orchestral accompaniment to a minimum and allows Kaye and Peter Banks to stretch out on organ and guitar. "Everydays" is highlighted by Jon Anderson's ethereal vocals and Kaye's dueting with the orchestra. A surprising amount of the material here seems rather tuneless, but the group was solidifying its sound and, in the process, forcing Banks out of the lineup, despite some beautiful moments for him (and Tony Kaye) on the prettiest parts of "The Prophet," a piece that also contains fragments of music that anticipate Yes' work right up through Tales from Topographic Oceans. The title "Astral Traveller" anticipates the themes of future group work, though they still don't have the dexterity to pull off the tempo changes they're trying for. By the time the record was completed, Banks was out of the band, which is why Steve Howe, his successor, ended up pictured on the cover of most editions. The 1997 remastering does make the orchestral accompaniments work better than they did on the original LP. [Note: In January of 2003, Rhino Records issued an expanded and remastered of Time and a Word, with notably crisper sound, new annotation by Mike Tiano, and a quartet of bonus tracks: "Dear Father" in its final version off of the single, with orchestra replacing Peter Banks' guitar, the alternate German-released mix of "Sweet Dreams," the somewhat rougher, original mix of "No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed," and the single edit of "The Prophet"]. ~ Bruce Eder
2003 remastered reissue of 1970 album includes four bonus tracks, 'Dear Father', 'No Opportunity Necessary, No Experience Needed' (Original Mix), 'Sweet Dreams' (Original Mix), & 'The Prophet' (Single Version). Elektra/Rhino.

Hot Space buy CD music In the tradition of 1975's A NIGHT AT THE OPERA, NEWS OF THE WORLD solidified Queen's position as '70s rock gods while expanding the group's vision through an eclectic batch of tunes. The album is primarily known for the anthemic medley "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions," which would grace sporting events worldwide for decades to come. Like OPERA, though, there's more to this album than the blockbuster hit. The Roger Taylor-sung "Sheer Heart Attack" veers damn close to punk. "Get Down, Make Love" is a funky, vamp-driven number that merges "Whole Lotta Love"-style effects with a brazen sensuality that could make Prince blush.
Freddie Mercury indulges his cabaret fantasies with the supper club cha-cha of the Spanish guitar-laced "Who Needs You." Brian May sings the mournful, folkish piano ballad "All Dead, All Dead." Things get downright Cole Porter-ish on the jazzy torch song "My Melancholy Blues." Once again, Queen prove themselves to be capable of much more than the arena rock many take to be their stock in trade.

Hot Space songs Following up the most idiosyncratic album of their career (JAZZ), Queen makes the transition here from weird pomp-rock band to weird pop band, marking a new musical direction for their '80s output. The major development here is the incorporation of funk into Queen's already-broad stylistic pallete. The mega-hit "Another One Bites the Dust" is based around an irresistibly funky bass riff that would be sampled by countless rappers over the next two decades. "Dragon Attack" mixes the funk quotient with some fiery guitar heroics from Brian May.
The pure pop aspect of Queen's music blossoms into full flower as well. "Need Your Loving" could be a Badfinger or Records out-take. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" predates (at least in the U.S.) the Stray Cats-led rockabilly revival of the early '80s. There are hints of late-period ELO on "Coming Soon." On "Rock It" the band shows that they still know how to pull out all the rock & roll stops. THE GAME is arguably Queen's most artistically successful, fully realized work.
THE GAME found Queen at the top of their craft and the top of the charts, with two number-1 singles ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and the Chic-inspired "Another One Bites The Dust"). It also featured the first appearance of a synthesizer on a Queen album.

Hot Space album for sale In 1978, all eyes were on Queen as they released the follow-up to their monster global hit NEWS OF THE WORLD. Predictably, JAZZ didn't achieve the massive commercial success of it's predecessor, but in aesthetic terms, it's a solid statement, and a marked progression of the band's musical vision. Though the band was already well into their "eclectic" mode by this time, the stylistic ventures the band takes on this album bring them even further afield from the heavy rock they're best known for.
Freddie Mercury kicks things off with "Mustapha," a nod to his Middle Eastern origins. Queen exhibits a ribald sense of humour on "Fat Bottomed Girls." Mercury indulges his Broadway tendencies to the hilt on "IF You Can't Beat Them" and "Don't Stop Me Now," which sound like they could have come from some obscure '50s musical. The jazzy "Dreamer's Ball" and the mellow, romantic "In Only Seven Days" provide welcome contrast. Amid all this eclecticism, though, the standout tracks are the propulsive rockers "Let Me Entertain You" (whose promise they fulfill) and "Dead on Time."

Hot Space CD music FLASH GORDON was the motion picture soundtrack for the 1980 movie, released just a few months after one of Queen's most commercially successful albums, THE GAME. More synthesizer-heavy than previous releases, FLASH GORDON is comprised mostly of short instrumentals, with a pair of more traditional Queen songs bookending the album. With dialogue from the movie inserted throughout, it is easy for the listener to grasp the storyline, and to tell which scenes the songs represent.
"Flash's Theme" was the soundtrack's anthemic single, which begins the album on a high note. Then the onslaught of instrumentals begins. The majority can be appreciated outside the story's context--such as "Football Fight" and "Vultan's Theme (Attack Of The Hawk Men)." Others are closely linked to the storyline--"In The Space Capsule," "In The Death Cell," "The Kiss" and "Marriage Of Dale And Ming"--but are still enjoyable. Although it doesn't quite match the majesty of an official Queen album, FLASH GORDON contains plenty of first-rate compositions, including one of their most underrated tunes, "The Hero," which closes the soundtrack.
All songs written by members of Queen.
Personnel: Brian May (vocals, guitar, synthesizer); Roger Taylor (vocals, synthesizer, drums); Freddie Mercury (vocals, synthesizer); John Deacon (guitar, synthesizer, bass guitar).
