Nosferatu review Product Description
.F.W. Murnau's German silent classic is the original--and some say most frightening--DRACULA adaptation, taking Bram Stoker's novel and turning it into a haunting, shadowy dream full of dread. Names had to be changed from the novel when Stoker's wife charged his novel was being filmed without proper permission. Running times vary depending upon versions of the film. Count Orlok, the rodentlike vampire frighteningly portrayed by Max Schreck, is perhaps the most animalistic screen portrayal of a vampire ever filmed. ...See Full Description

Mezmerizing When pictures were filmed with no voices and then were set to music, much more was left to your own imagination. I especially enjoyed the movie in black and white By cathy66001 (New Jersey) This review is for a different format.
The Best of the Oldies This is a very well done clean up of the original Silent Movie of Dracula. The pictures are clear and excellent on DVD. The music accompanying fits the story well. For those interested in a history of the Dracula films, this is an excellent place to begin. I recommend reading the book first, then viewing this production. The comments on the film are also very well done and explain the director's plan for the film. You can then graduate to the Dracula movie of the 30s and go forward from there up to the modern times. I found it to be very worthwhile viewing. By Rusty (Houston, Texas) This review is for a different format.
Horror silent classic still scary in the 21st century I recently purchased the original silent version of Nosferatu. This film is still scary and frightening even in the early days of the twenty first century. The acting and special effects were very good. Nosferatu came across as a creature of pure evil. It is highly entertaining and I recommend the film to all horror fans. By LoveGaneshJi (New York, New York , USA) This review is for a different format.
PURCHASED AS A GIFT I Purchased the movie as a gift and could not believe how quickly it was recieved. By far the best. By am-castaneda (El Monte, Ca) This review is for a different format.
nosferatu Thanks to Kino Video for this grat masterpiece of the vampiric cinema. Restored in Bologna (Italy), the original version is not available in Italy. A real "Horror Simphony" it is a disturbing portrait of a powerless city faced with the advancing of evil. In dystorting black & white, Murnau obtains ghostly blowing on the audience: "a freezing current from beyond". By enniosterchele (Italy) This review is for a different format.
