| Extraordinary Music andArtist Man Who Invented Soul album for sale I was hesitant at first about ordering this CD, but I am now glad I did!! This entertainer had gifts and talents beyond some of today's entertainers, and it showed in this CD-The only thing I did not like about this CD was the different takes of some of the music that was previously released as singles-They should have kept those and put on some more songs to make the CD more complete!! | this is the one! Man Who Invented Soul CD music Aside from his legendary gospel era, this is the best and most comprehensive Sam Cooke collection available. Great packaging (although the song listing format is a little difficult to read), and a great choice of songs (the last disc combining the impossible-to-find 'Night Beat' with the 'Live At The Harlem Club'is a fitting coda). Adam Faith Very Best of Adam Faith CD (2001)
Man Who Invented Soul buy CD music One of the most successful pop singers of the 1960s, Adam Faith is celebrated on this VERY BEST OF collection, which includes sixty of his hits, 13 of which were Top Ten singles.
Adam Faith was a contemporary of early British rock & rollers like Cliff Richard and Billy Fury, but Faith's sound was less Elvis Presley-derived and more aligned with teen idol pop such as that of Bobby Vee (who covered Faith's number one U.K. hit "What Do You Want?"). John Barry had a hand in Faith's early efforts, and the instrumental arrangements are truly remarkable, from the surprising hoedown-style fiddling on "Don't That Beat All" to the musical saw on "What Now." In fact, it is the arrangements that elevate this music above standard teen idol fare. Faith rocked occasionally, as on "Made You," had moderate success adapting to the changes wrought by the Beatles, and later worked with folk-pop material. The Very Best of Adam Faith tracks his evolution by collecting 26 U.K. chart hits from 1959-1966, four of which were recorded with the Roulettes. Faith had two minor hits in the U.S. in 1965 that aren't included, but The Very Best of Adam Faith is otherwise an exemplary and essential anthology of an early British pop star. ~ Greg Adams
Adam Faith was a true legend, and one of the most successful pop singers of the 60s, with 13 top 10s hits! This comprehensive 2CD set features all the singles and B sides of the chart singles. Produced in cooperation with the official Adam Faith website, who provided the sleeve notes and will be promoting the release on the site. All tracks have been digitally remastered at Abbey Road.
