Great Album......BUT
Disraeli Gears songs Nothing really new to the collectors looking for "untapped gems", thus my rating of "only" 3 stars. If you have the box set(Those Were The Days) and the MFSL Gold Disc(both MONO and Stereo versions were on the disc, the bases are covered with the exception of the 4 "unreleased" tracks. For the music lovers, this album is a great introduction to Cream, and gives you a chance to hear Mono vs. Stereo releases. Wish more Mono versions of older material would be released(are you listening Capitol/EMI?). Despite what most think, the mono versions aren't collapsed versions of stereo releases.

Still great after all these years
It may not have been heavy metal but it was one of the foreruners of modern rock. It's still a fresh sound even in the 21st century.

Great album, few real rarities
Reviewing this release of "Disraeli Gears" is difficult if you're a Cream fan and you have the box set "Those Were The Days" already. Disraeli Gears album for sale The album, of course, is a classic rock masterpiece. Most of the focus is on the extras -- and almost all of them have been released elsewhere in the last few years. The BBC tracks had finally seen daylight on the lamely titled "Cream - BBC" disc, and there are STILL several BBC radio tracks (in dubious fidelity) that were not included here, particularly "Sunshine of Your Love" And the studio workouts had appeared on the box set. There's only one genuinely unreleased cut: Eric Clapton's lead vocal (Ginger Baker sang the original) of "Blue Condition", not one of the strongest tracks on the album. The surprise may be the fact that the alternate "Lawdy Mama" has been mixed properly for the first time (it originally had two simultaneous lead guitars and two vocal tracks, none truly synchronized) and becomes more than a historical curiosity. If you want to know what studio Cream (as opposed to live Cream) was all about and you've not been exposed before, I can heartily recommend this disc. For the collector, there's not much new here, hence only 4 stars. It's a pity that any real extras were destroyed (burned in a fire?) many years ago, and what should have been a landmark release appears more as a crass cash-in attempt. Still, any release of Cream music should be a cause for some celebration.

Clapton,Bruce, and Baker shine on this great album. Cream was well known for their ability to play as a unit and each song on this album displays each member's talents. Clapton's guitar roars on "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" and "SWLABR"
