White Lilies Island album for sale Product Description
White Lilies Island album for sale by Natalie Imbruglia was released Mar 05, 2002 on the BMG label. This follow up to 1998's wildly successful LEFT OF THE MIDDLE is full of the pop hooks that propelled that album to the top of the UK and US charts; in addition the intervening few years seem to have left the Natalie Imbruglia with a somewhat more mature pop sensibility. Her voice is still reminiscent of Lisa Loeb or a less-unhinged Fiona Apple, but the Australian singer's previous eager-to-please quality is tempered by the world-weary narrative of tracks such as "Talk in Tongues" ("flowers in the bin/close this hole I'm in") that undercut the sunny textures of songs like the Joni-flavored "Satellite." Generally Imbruglia is at her best when she's least produced; her voice has more than enough commercial appeal without the assistance of tricky arrangements. White Lilies Island CD music contains a single disc with 12 songs. ...See Full Description

| Another great album from the little Aussie! After Left of the Middle, I wasn't expecting half as good an album but when I bought White Lillies album, I realised that it is better than its predecesor. By jonutuk (Northern Ireland) This review is for a different format. |

Some of you may be familiar with the crackle and hiss of a record player as the needle gently bounces across the vinyl of your favorite LP. Maybe you can recall anxiously tearing away at the seemingly impenetrable plastic on a CD case whose contents hold a whole new world of inspiration. Most of you are definitely familiar with waiting painful seconds as iTunes slowly delivers you a freshly released album that soon spills seamlessly into your factory standard ear buds. Regardless of the vehicle you choose to listen to music, a good album has the ability to transcend the present and take you to places you never knew existed.
Our goal with our new album, Still Life, was to make a comprehensive work from start to finish. As a result, this album takes you on a journey through a wide range of emotions. It's optimistic yet lamenting, upbeat yet somber, melodic yet melancholic, and it culminates entirely into a cohesive account of the conquering of life's tough hurdles. It is a combination of acoustic guitar driven rhythms, immense vocal harmonies, and a songwriting style that encompasses real stories with very real feelings. We poured our hearts and hard work into this album and focused on every painstaking detail.
Still Life is a departure from our previous sounds and represents an evolution into our own unique style. We have been through a lot in the past three years with band members coming and going, falling in and out of friendships; ultimately seeing all time highs and all time lows in the process of maintaining a band. Through it all, we have come full circle and grown tremendously as individuals. That's where the title Still Life comes from! It's about an optimistic new beginning and an evolution into maturity.
We urge you to give this album a listen from start to finish and not just cherry pick a couple songs. We know that this day and age it is really easy to pick a favorite track or two and be settled, but we sculpted this album in such a way that it all flows together. We specifically made it just over a half hour in length so that it's neither too long nor too short. Most importantly, we really hope that you enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed writing it. Still Life was a long time coming and it's packed full of songs that took years to complete. It's our distinct honor and pleasure to share it with you all, enjoy!
