Th1rt3en album Product Description

Th1rt3en album by Megadeth was released Nov 01, 2011 on the Roadrunner label. Megadeth's 13th studio album, and first since 2001's The World Needs a Hero to utilize the talents of bassist/founding member Dave Ellefson, was produced by Johnny K (Staind, Disturbed) and features a combination of newly composed tracks, along with older cuts written years ago but never put to tape. Th1rt3en songs Darker, heavier, and more immediate than 2009's Endgame, Dave Mustaine's snarling vocals ride higher in the mix this time around, but fans need not fear, as his fleet fingers are still possessed with the power to conjure the dead. Much of the aptly named Th1rt3en feels vintage, from the familiar political themes on "We the People" and the tightly wound, Dio-esque riffing on "Public Enemy No.1" to the soft, melodramatic military snare intro of "Never Dead," which eventually explodes into a wicked blast of retro-thrash that feels positively invigorating, not redundant. Elsewhere, the melodic slow-burn "Millennium of the Blind" fuses Ten Years After's "I'd Love to Change the World" and Metallica's "Fade to Black" into an anti-corporation/war rant that calls out the "millennials" on their submissiveness, the snaky "Black Swan" casts long shadows that mimic "Symphony of Destruction," and first single "Sudden Death" stands defiant before the skeptics who thought that Mustaine's newfound faith would render him bereft of the old ultraviolence. Th1rt3en CD music contains a single disc with 13 songs.   ...See Full Description

Megadeth is aging gracefully !
Well 2011 is here slightly after halloween and Megadeth returns with a follow up to 2009 Endgame entitled simply Th1rt3en. The album is full of more catchy tunes and still solid Mustaine and company solos/riffs etc... basically this is a safe Megadeth release nothing that will let you down but no risk is taken either. Mustaine and the rest of Megadeth do bring us some great tracks such as "Public Enemy Number One" "Whose life is it anyway" "Re-recordings of "Black Swan", "Millenum of the Blind" an more are decent additions to the album as well. The album is more up-tempo with slightly more catchy songs then Endgame that could receive more FM radio airplay. Still this is a must have for a band that has always been a true thrash metal band an one of their best releases since the mid 90's.

This Album is Killer
This is a great Megadeth Album. The songs are fast and hard and deliver everything I have come to appreciate about Megadeth. I love the fact that Megadeth have been consistent and continue to create great music to listen to.

Solid
Can't understand why no one has reviewed this yet. It is a solid album. I really enjoyed the catchy melodies more like their older work. It is pretty straightforward driving metal. The guitars sound great, Dave and Chris actually sounding pretty similar, David Ellefson back on base so that is great. Some of the lyrics are a little hokey and the vocals are very forward in the mix. But i like Dave's singing so I like that. The recording is compressed a lot so it will sound great coming out of your car speakers or any low fi rig! Not real audiophile sound though. Anyway, another great album by Megadeth and easy to listen to (and even sing along with) over and over.

Great Album
Out of the 13 tracks 11 are great songs only two fillers Guns, Drugs & Money and Wrecker. Drums are the best part of the record, Drover shoes his chops!

This is a very well made and well writen album. Now some people might have expected some songs to be faster. Such as the song on their albums: "Killing is My Business... And Business is Good." "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" and "Rust In Peace" but no. if your looking for fast Megadeth check those ones out. Now, this album has fenomial Guitar, Bass, and Drums. And I think their next album will be better. Get this album if you like Megadeth!
