Sector 1 album for sale by Rush was released Nov 21, 2011 on the Mercury label. Taking listeners on a journey through Rush's seminal, prog-heavy early period, Sector 1 is the first in a series of three box sets released by the band in 2011. Collecting the band's first five albums, Rush, Fly by Night, Caress of Steel, 2112, and the live album All the World's a Stage, the set shows Rush finding their feet artistically as they grow from a Led Zeppelin-inspired blues-rock band on their debut to the wildly ambitious band that released 2112, an album with a 20-minute title track. David Gilmour David Gilmour CD (1978) Top Seller
Sector 1 songs Before David Gilmour virtually "became" Pink Floyd he was always the most likely member of the band (with the possible exception of de-facto leader Roger Waters) to release a solo album. 1978's welcome eponymous debut showcased his multi-faceted performing talents.
The album opener "Mihalis" is an ANIMALS period instrumental, which, along with "Raise My Rent," sounds like an outtake from that album. The beautiful "There's No Way Out of Here" begins with a lonely harmonica and, with "No Way" and "I Can't Breathe Anymore," expounds the album's main theme of being trapped in an untenable situation. "Cry From the Streets" is a nod to the blues, while the lovely "So Far Away" harks back to the ballads of OBSCURED BY CLOUDS. Almost a missing mid-period Floyd album, this solo effort is a must-have for all Pink Floyd fans.
Photographers: David Gilmour; Vlad Vinski; Ginger Gilmour; Jill Furmanovsky.
Unknown Contributor Role: Phil Taylor.
Personnel: David Gilmour (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards); David Gilmour; Rick Wills (vocals, bass guitar); Mick Weaver (piano, background vocals); Willie Wilson & The Tunemasters, Willie Wilson (drums, percussion); Debbie Doss, Shirley Roden, ...

Sector 2 CDs (2011)
Sector 1 CD music Neatly chopping up the band's career into three segments, Rush's Sector series of box sets breaks the Canadian prog rockers' early musical legacy into easy-to-digest morsels. On Sector 2, we find the band transitioning from its early developmental period into mainstream success with the albums A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, and the live album Exit...Stage Left. This period of Rush's history finds the band gaining acceptance from a wider audience with songs like "Tom Sawyer," "Closer to the Heart," and "The Spirit of Radio" while still managing to push its sound into increasingly progressive territories with more complex arrangements, new styles of music, and a wider range of instruments. This remastered box set features these iconic records repackaged in scale replicas of the original vinyl LP jackets, and those interested in a new listening experience will want to check out the DVD-Audio version of A Farewell to Kings, which features both stereo and 5.1 Surround mixes of the album. ~ Gregory Heaney

Sector 3 CDs (2011)
Sector 1 buy CD music Sector 3, the third installment of Rush's Sector series of box sets, finds the band diving headlong into the `80s with a more synth-oriented approach. Featuring the albums Signals, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, and the live album A Show of Hands, this period of Rush's career finds them focusing more on Geddy Lee's multi-layered synthesizer excursions and finds guitarist Alex Lifeson moving into more of a support role as he begins to experiment with a more effects-heavy sound. Despite these changes, it would still prove to be a strong period for them as three albums in the set achieved platinum status in the United States (with all five of them hitting platinum in their native Canada). Serving as a blast from the past, these remastered reissues are repackaged in tiny re-creations of the original vinyl LP jackets, and the set also features a 52-page booklet containing lyrics and unreleased photos from the era. Also of interest to die-hard fans and audiophiles, the set includes a DVD-Audio version of Signals that contains both stereo and 5.1 Surround mixes of the album for those who wish to explore all the sonic depths that the album has to offer. ~ Gregory Heaney
