Night at the Opera album for sale Product Description
Night at the Opera album for sale by Queen was released Dec 20, 2011 on the Universal Music label. Queen were straining at the boundaries of hard rock and heavy metal on Sheer Heart Attack, but they broke down all the barricades on A Night at the Opera, a self-consciously ridiculous and overblown hard rock masterpiece. Using the multi-layered guitars of its predecessor as a foundation, A Night at the Opera encompasses metal ("Death on Two Legs," "Sweet Lady"), pop (the lovely, shimmering "You're My Best Friend"), campy British music hall ("Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon," "Seaside Rendezvous"), and mystical prog rock ("'39," "The Prophet's Song"), eventually bringing it all together on the pseudo-operatic "Bohemian Rhapsody." In short, it's a lot like Queen's own version of Led Zeppelin IV, but where Zep find dark menace in bombast, Queen celebrate their own pomposity. Night at the Opera CD music contains a single disc. ...See Full Description

| The Sgt Pepper Album of the 70's! Night at the Opera buy CD music One of my favorite albums of all time now finally has this amazing galactic clarity that wasn't there with the first Hollywood issue back in 1991. The bonus photos and new liner notes are great as is the Bonus DVD with lots of cool vintage footage synched up to a 5.1 mix of the album! With all the Queen DVD's released I hope they release some vintage live performances like the Live At The Rainbow concert from 1975. But Queen fans should grab this very special commemoration of this landmark album! By George (New York) This review is for a different format. |
| A True Classic in New Package Night at the Opera songs In 1975 it made people turn their heads, "what is this"!? Still to this day, few bands can compete with Queens musicality, innovative crossover landmarks. Mercurys Bohemian Rhapsody (voted best song by Guinness World Records readers in Europe)is of course a masterpiece. That also goes for the beautiful "Love of my life", the pop classic "You´re my best friend", the live favourite sung by Roger Taylor "I´m in love with my car" and Brian Mays folk classic "39`" (sung by Brian). This remastered version lifts us to a higher level. A must have in music history. Queen at the top of their creative 70´s. By magnusrouden (Kalmar, Sweden) This review is for a different format. |
