With Inténtalo, the tribal guarachero style -- traditional Mexican genres meet electro beats -- received its first youthful and polished release, one that captures the excitement of this unique flavor of dance music that had previously been made available through mixtapes, DJ sets, and other underground releases scattered about the Dallas-Ft. The DJ crew 3BallMTY (Erick Rincon, Sheeqo Beat, and DJ Otto) are fine ambassadors for the genre, crafting slick, flashy, yet meaty productions that allow vocalists like El Bebeto and América Sierra to shine. Hooks are plentiful, hypnosis and hip sways are inevitable, and there's a bit of humor in there too, with oddball samples and other tricks giving this mechanical genre that human element.
