Seven Moons album Product Description
Seven Moons album by Jack Bruce / Robin Trower was released Nov 22, 2011 on the Repertoire label. Jack Bruce must have enjoyed his 2005 get-together with Cream so much that, when Clapton and Baker were unwilling to continue the collaboration, he rang up Robin Trower to renew the brief power trio fling they had in the mid-'80s. Seven Moons CD music The Trower-Bruce pairing had released only two albums, B.L.T. and Truce, and was dormant since 1982, so this 2007 reunion was somewhat of a continuation of the project, albeit one separated by a quarter century. Seven Moons music CDs The results impressively continue where Truce left off, as Bruce brings his distinctive croon/moan to bluesy, riff-oriented tunes dominated by Trower's silvery guitar runs. Seven Moons songs Gary Husband fills the drum slot adequately if inconspicuously, but his contributions are mixed so far under Bruce's vocals and Trower's guitar that they are secondary. The previous two releases called in Trower's old Procol Harum lyricist Keith Reid and Bruce collaborator Peter Brown to write the words, but Bruce and Trower pen these 11 songs without outside assistance. Seven Moons CD music contains a single disc. ...See Full Description

| Robin Trower-Jack Bruce Seven Moons CD Seven Moons music CDs This is a remarkable CD that displays Jack Bruce & Robin Trower's writing & playing with passion like I have never heard before. The early '80s produced BLT & TRUCE, with the two collaborating on individual styles, while splitting tracks. This CD showcases Robin's distinctive guitar with a clean & psychedelic sound, that seems to combine all of his styles into one disc. Also, Jack Bruce offers a stronger vocal and bass than I've heard for years, & both sound truly inspired. I believe song's such as the title track "Seven Rooms" & "Bad Case Of Celebrity" sound cohesive with drummer Gary Husband's style varying from the pounding Cream days to a symbol oriented mid seventie's Trower CD. I love the fact that this disc resembles the classic rock & blues from the '70s, yet sounds updated and very modern. Now I can't wait to see if the band goes out on tour to promote this masterpiece. | Get this one! Seven Moons songs Just to reinforce what all the other reviews say, this album is a real gem, with - for me anyway - some of Trowers's best ever playing. Every solo drips with bluesy emotion, and his sound has never been better. If you like Cream,Trower or any kind of good blues/rock,you will surely like this one. By Pete (Okayama,Japan.) | "Excellence in Age - CREAM IT!" Seven Moons album Excellent compilation between these two "Heavy Hitters" All of the dynamics that you would expect are here and played out in a somewhat laid-back, but extremely powerful sense. ... Other reviews are correct as both (Jack & Robin) complement themselves without over-powering one another on all tracks. The vocals by Jack are straight and right on, while Robin's guitar licks and steely tempered expressions are solid. Both give 110 percent with this project. .... In my opinion, this album should be taken as a direct hit on the chin by others who try to compile and sell their "Thrash & Trash" as a true expample of what can be accomplished without the "Hack & Rip" trade off placed ahead of creativeness and longevity. There is no "I" in "TEAM" and this gem is the proof. .... Job well done. I give this a SOLID 4 STAR rating. There are very few that can and still do what they can do. Their talent, appetite and punch seem ageless. I highly recommend this cd for your collection. Money well spent. Get it and see for yourself as you'll agree. "Thank you Jack, Robin and CDU!"
