Lyric baritone David Johnson is a classic crooner, who specializes in discovering, performing and treasuring golden songs from the Golden Age of the Movies. His voice, mellow yet rich and romantic, is in perfect sync with these tunes from our glittery and glamorous past. For instance, the provocative title song of this album, MIND IF I MAKE LOVE TO YOU?, was a seductive serenade originally sung by Frank Sinatra to Grace Kelly in HIGH SOCIETY, Cole Porter's musical remake of the romantic-comedy hit, THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, released in 1956 by MGM. The crooner has re-introduced such beguiling ballads as this one to audiences via his cabaret shows at such disparate local venues as The Gardenia, Vitello's, Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill, Stoney Point and The Paul G. Gleason Theater in Hollywood. Johnson is the singing discovery of multi-media star (theater/movies/television) Constance Towers, and he will be eternally grateful to Ms. Towers for her continuing support and belief in him.
