Maud Laforest

Born in France, Maud Laforest started playing the guitar at the age of 4. In 1996, she settled in Texas, where she studied at SMU with Robert Guthrie and later moved to Baltimore to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory, from where she holds a Bachelor and a Master of Music in Guitar Performance. She also benefited from the musical teaching of Carlos Marin in France and Carlo Marchione in Holland.
Successful in numerous competitions in the United States and in Europe, Maud has for example received prizes at the Guitar Foundation of America (USA), in Mottola (Italy), in Arhanes (Greece), in Nurtingen (Germany), at the U.F.A.M. (Paris) in both the solo and duo categories, as well as in the Collin County Concerto Competition, where she won the only prize ever awarded to a guitarist.
Maud performs regularly, mainly in Europe and the United States, giving solo and duo concerts, with Duo Transatlantique. In ...
