Joe Sublett's trademark Texas Tenor saxophone sound has been featured on CDs by The Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, Elton John and Leon Russell, Gregg Allman, Randy Newman, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, T-Bone Burnett, Keb Mo and Richard Thompson to name a few. After starting his career in Austin, Texas playing in the legendary R&B band, Paul Ray and the Cobras alongside a twenty one year old Stevie Ray Vaughan, Sublett eventually made his way to Los Angeles where he remains an in-demand session and touring musician.
