Skin Deep review Product Description
Skin Deep movie was released May 24, 2012 by the Warner Bros. Digital Dist studio. Zach loves his ex-wife. Skin Deep video He loves her so much he's willing to do anything to get her back. Except give up women. Or give up booze. Or go back to work.
Blake Edwards's return to the male-in-meltdown territory he explored in 10 and THAT'S LIFE stars John Ritter as unemployed writer Zach, who is not only suffering from writer's block, but his drinking is out of control, as is his obsessive womanizing, and, not surprisingly, his wife wants to end their marriage. ...See Full Description

| FUNNY!!!! I agrGREAT Fun movie I searched it out having seen it in the early 90's....Decided I needed it!! Worth 20 bucks for sure ....YOU will watch it more than once!!! By a reviewer (Juliaetta,Idaho) |
| Blake Edwards at his very best A truely classic comedy with a lot of class and great story line written and directed by Edwards himself. John Ritter is the perfect choice for this role and his performance as an womanising alcoholic on the verge of a break down is flawless. | "SKIN DEEP": one of the funniest and best from Blake Edwards I originally saw "Skin Deep" when it first appeared in the movie theatres back in 1989. I had even purchased it on laserdisc, but since that was in Full Screen (Pan-and-Scan), I am considering purchasing the DVD, which is in the letterbox/widescreen format (2.35:1 aspect ratio), which I prefer, and with Spanish subtitles (if prefer). I would place this movie along with Blake Edwards' other excellent movie "10", which is in that same genre. The other reason why I love this film is the character of Zack, which reminds me of ME! I have the same type of personality and same traits! EXCEPT I do not drink like he does! I only drink to socialize. I won't go into explaining the movie since you can read the synopsis, but if you want to laugh, and you loved "10" and if you like Blake Edwards' films, you won't be disappointed, and you will most likely love this movie also! John Ritter is one of our best comic actors (which the character of Jack Tripper is extremely close, about 99 recent, to me! But ... Zack = Jack ! ... hmmmm! Coincidence? Jack Tripper comes close to the character of Zack in a way!). If you don't think it is excellent, you have to say it is good. This is better than those "cookie cutter" crap-type movies being processed in the last ten years! How could you go wrong with a Blake Edwards movie? Rent, or better yet, BUY THIS! And watch and ENJOY! If you don't laugh, especially during the glow-in-the-dark condom scene, then you are either a hard-right religious person or have no funny bone or have no sense of humor (like my first wife)! Thank you. -Paul By latinogringo941 (New York, New York, USA) This review is for a different format. |

Skin Deep review Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn glow on screen as two people who find long, enduring love with each other despite being married to other people. A fateful meeting at a California inn leads the seemingly mismatched pair into 26-year-long affair in which they meet for only one weekend every year. Altered by the global events of the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, skillfully displayed with film stills from the time, and by their personal challenges, the couple grows and changes as the years roll by but never loses the awe that they have found their true soul mates. The dissimilar and quirky characters of the two lovers drive the film, and both Burstyn and Alda soar while retaining the clay feet that make their characters so believable. Based on Bernard Slade's two-character Broadway play, SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR will enchant viewers seeking an extraordinary glimpse of the reality of romance.
