| You'll Wanna Be Green after This... Emerald City songs Firstly, let it suffice to say that it would take a more "Rock"-flavored outing ("Lovergirl") to bring Lady Tee crossover success, however that success would not duplicate itself a second time, as "Lips 2 Find U," as awesome a song as it is, just doesn't have the same PUNCH as its more "pop-like" predecessor. Emerald City album However, this album really IS a masterpiece with all of its deep, dark and rock-influenced pieces. Other flavors here include a Latin dance vibe a la "Shadow Boxing" in the wonderful "Batuada Suite" and a very thoughtful, smoky and autumn-like jazz downtempo torch song in the closing "Sunny Skies." Listen with your eyes closed and your heart open to receive this impeccably well written and produced "trip" that will take you not only OVER the rainbow, but "behind the groove," as everything she does has and will continue to do for years to come. Another ***** 5 stars. By Starr (Portland, ME, USA) This review is for a different format. |

Black Crowes Southern Harmony and Musical Companion CD (1992)
Emerald City songs The CD-Extra version of THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION contains all the tracks from the original album along with two bonus tracks. The screensavers, a link to the Black Crowes' website and full-length videos of "Remedy" and "Sometimes Salvation" are accessible using a CD-ROM drive. The audio portion will play on any standard audio CD player. This CD is also available as part of the 5-CD SHO' NUFF box set.
Given the sub-Stones boogie of their debut, SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER, THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION came as a quietly accomplished body of work, apparently way beyond their relative youth and experience. The EXILE ON MAIN STREET references were still intact, but the predominant swagger and sashay had been abandoned in favour of a soulful interpretation of their roots, rather than a parody of their influences. Chris Robinson's Jagger pastiche was replaced by a more gutsy, honest strut, while brother Rich plays with an aplomb and spirit that struck darkly at the heart of their songs. A very grown-up record indeed.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Ikimono Gakari Hajimari no Uta CD (2009)
Emerald City music CDs Ikimono Gakari feel more comfortable in their niche with each album, honing their brand of sugary pop/rock that owes as much to Celine Dion as it does to the Carpenters, and on Hajimari no Uta, they finally get to the point where they begin to expand their living space, not really to try new things, but just for the fun of it. ...
