| A true to the meaning: icon
Naked To The World CD music Teena Marie was, and still is, the bomb. No human, male or female, could ever come close to her style, lyrics,and music passion. To me, LTEE, was clearly in a class all by herself. Nowadays, everyone in the entertainment business is dubbed icon, even the new artist. TEENA MARIE was and is a true to the meaning: icon. Whats saddens me was the fact that the main street radio media never gave her a chance to express her renouned qualities. They were too busy classifying her as racist. I am a male Hispanic and TEENA had me in 1983, with her Robbery LP. Then and thereafter, I was hook, line and sanker baby - ever since. You can imagine, I was floored and saddened on that fateful day after Christmas. I know in my knower, that she loved the Lord. I hope her daughter carries her mom's torch. Yet, if she does not, I can understand. God Bless. -rbenitez.
