| A BEATLES MASTERPIECE WHAT CAN YOU SAY. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO DESCIBE THE INFLUENCE THIS ALBUM FROM 1967 CAUSED. 40 YEARS IS A LOT OF TIME AGO BUT THIS EFFORT ALWAYS SOUNDS FRESH AND WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO GET INSIDE THE BEATLES MINDS. THIS MASTERPIECE BROKE ALL THE RULES AND WHEN BRIAN WILSON HEARD THIS , HE CRIED FROM JOY AND THREW IN THE TOWEL By tobigal (naples, florida) This review is for a different format. |
| Did anyone mention genius... It seems to have been around since pre-history, so indelibly stamped on our consciousness is it. When did you last sit down uninterrupted, and let it wash over you, like it was the first time. Its presence looms so large in the culture of popular music, that it almost a palimpsest- its legend obscures its worth as a living, breathing slice of music that continues to be relevant to any listener today. Yes it is drug-informed- so was XANADU, and for all we know, the craftsmen painting the SISTINE CHAPEL were high on the paint fumes and the incense. It matters only in that it freed their already extraordinary imaginations to fly higher than ever before. Try and listen without the weight of the years- it still has the power to make you lose yourself. Listen 'in' to it, not just 'to' it. Relax--let your mind float-- downstream... By David Martin (Mt. Martha, Australia.) This review is for a different format. |

| Five Stars Are Not Enough The Beatles had more of an impact on rock and roll than any other artist(s) in history. This album is definitely their masterpiece. Just as Mozart's music has lasted through the years, so will Sgt. Pepper. This is a MUST HAVE for die hard Beatles fans, and a great first album for the novice fan. | The best by the best This was the first album I had by the Fab Four, and I still think it's the best. And it is worth the money you pay for it. By a reviewer (Avon, Colorado) This review is for a different format. |
