The brain-child of singer/guitarist Rob Thorne and bassist Pete Altieri, Sacred Oath was formed in 1985 while both were students at Bethel High School in Connecticut. Spells & Incantations: The Best of Sacred Oath album for sale Their first 2 demos quickly developed a strong fan base for Sacred Oath and a recording contract with Mercenary Records in New York soon followed. The debut album "A Crystal Vision" was recorded and released in 1987 and included Kenny Evans on drums and Glen Cruciani on guitar. A unique combination of thrash and melodic metal was met with positive reviews and it seemed that Sacred Oath had a star rising in the east.

But tragically, it would be another 10 years before they would record again. Trouble with the record company and within the band broke Sacred Oath apart.
