Mainline Marcus There are some great tunes here as well as some that seem just what you would expect on a Marcus Cd. Really love the first cut, Detroit and the last. A solo bass cut of the J5 song I'll Be There. Overall entertaining but not his best album ever. By a reviewer (Monterey, Ca.)
Marcus is the MAN!!! Marcus' first studio session in two years does not disappoint!!! By herbievince (Philadelphia, PA, USA)
"More of the Same' Gets an Upgrade Miller has been duplicationg the same funk/fusion formula since the 90's, which isn't a bad thing since he's such a great player, writer and producer. 'Renaissance' features saxophonist Kenny Garrrett and the entire musicality of the project is heightened to accomodate him. 'Renaissance' is jazzier with a smaller combo feeling than previous albums. It is more acoustic with less gimmictry: in other words, the Marcus Miller album we've been expecting for years...FINALLY! By St.Dvy (Pgh, Pa.)
