O.N.I.F.C. album by Wiz Khalifa is scheduled to be released Jan 29, 2013 on the Atlantic (Label) label. Following the enormous success of 2011's Rolling Papers, Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa follows up with the highly anticipated O.N.I.F. C., his fourth album and second for Atlantic, not including scads of random mixtapes released along the way. Khalifa works with a wide array of producers on the album, again enlisting the Stargate production team -- who helped craft his ubiquitous breakout single, "Black and Yellow" -- for work on O.N.I.F.C. 's first single, "Work Hard Play Hard," co-produced by Benny Blanco. O.N.I.F.C. music CDs Other producers on the album include Pharrell, will.i. am, and Deadmau5, and cameo appearances are made by the Weekend, Juicy J., Curren$y, 50 Cent, 2 Chainz, and many others. In interviews, Khalifa divulged that the album's title stands for "Only Nigga in First Class," though on clean/censored versions, the acronym will stand for "One Night in First Class." Bland, dull pace despite solid rap delivery
I think Wiz Khalifa is a very exciting artist. But this second album opens with 4 solid songs, but drags and loses steam in the middle. Most of the songs are TOO slow in the tempos! I know they're meant to compliment his rap deliveries, but there's a complete disconnect. It picks up at the end, but it's too late for me. I like the once that samples Ginuwine's 1996 song Tell Me Do U Wanna which I recognized in the credits and it's the best song. His in-house Pittsburgh based producers have some solid numbers, but the other producers give him such lurgid, dull, bland songs. And the smoking weed themes on the songs get tired after 45 minutes of the 73 minute album! Just telling you like it is, but this doesn't take away from how good he is as a rapper--I just didn't like this dull sounding album and I still won't like it if I hear it again!
